Of all the people I spoke to who studied Zahn for the July exam (six people total, so absolutely not a large enough pool to determine probabilities), only two people passed. Zahn boasts an extremely high pass rate, but for this version of the exam only 33% passed in my little world.

Some CFP Review Providers Have Pass Rates Over 90%. Wrong. The CFP Board publishes the national pass rate for each exam, which is usually 55% or so. For a CFP review provider to advertise or say they have 90%+ pass rates, that means other CFP review providers would have to have a 5-10% pass rate. This process is conducted by CFP® professionals and led by testing experts to assure the exam remains current, reliable, valid and legally defensible. In 2019, the overall pass rate was 62%, and the pass rate for first-time exam takers was 66%. CFP Board works with volunteer CFP® professionals to develop the exam. The overall pass rate for students in the study is about 60.1%, while the pass rate for CLUs is 56.1%. ChFCs fared only slightly better with a pass rate of 58.6%.
